Who this is built on

This site did not find 449 boards on its own, and pretending otherwise would be the first thing wrong with it.

outoutbid.lol

The census starts from outoutbid.lol’s public directory export, which is offered under CC BY 4.0 with no key and no sign-up. It supplies the address, the category, the entry price, the payment rail where stated, the date it listed each board, and each board’s own published figures.

That work is theirs and the attribution is required, so it appears in the footer of every page on this site, in the JSON export, and on every field taken from it. Their research page — a dated census of the clone wave, recomputed on request — is the best single account of how big this got, and the numbers on this site line up closely with it.

Nothing of theirs is copied verbatim. Descriptions here are re-derived from each board’s own page; the classification, the status data, the registry backfill, the scoring and every word of the field guide are this site’s own.

RDAP registries

Registration dates come from the registries themselves, through the service each one publishes in IANA’s bootstrap file. This site queried the registry directly for every board the upstream export had no date for, which is why 438 of 450 boards now carry one.

The boards themselves

417 boards were read directly on the last sweep — first by plain fetch, then in a real browser, because a board that builds its page in JavaScript says nothing at all to the first method. Their own titles, descriptions, visible copy, printed figures and payment providers are first-party evidence, and they are the only source on this site that outranks everything else about what a board actually does.

Screenshots on this site are of the boards themselves, taken by this site on the date printed under each one. They are here as a record of a format that is disappearing quickly. If you run a board and want its picture removed, say so and it goes.

Other trackers counting the same wave

Several projects are measuring this, and their totals disagree — with each other and with this one — because they include different things and read them at different moments. That disagreement is worth showing rather than resolving by fiat:

Where another tracker’s figure for a field is known, it is stored as third-party sourced beside the others rather than merged into them. If you run one of these and want a figure represented differently here, say so.

Licensing

This site’s dataset is published under CC BY 4.0 in turn — take it, chart it, build on it, sell what you build, with a link back. The upstream attribution to outoutbid.lol travels with it.

Last sweep 28 Aug 2026.
